i started this blog a week ago and just couldn't find the time to finish. now i realize the best time to gather your thoughts is the middle of the night. it is also the only quiet time at my house. sleep, smeep...

celebrating

novels..i listened to a john piper series recently and i am all for a good dose of intellectual challenge from the scriptures but i got to tell you--my brain hurt. there is nothing like a crazy fiction novel or a juicy memoir to really take you away. i have been reading some good ones lately. just when you think your own life is rough you can read a memoir like glass castles and set yourself straight.
or when your surroundings get you down just check out city of fallen angels and be swept away to venice. right now i am reading about some crazy thing about a goofy guy and his really boring life and then reading little house on the prairie with tatiana, it is great to be taken somewhere totally different. pick up a book!

right or wrong? bumper stickers

i recently noticed as i was walking around the back side of my car that there was a sticker on my bumper that read this car is carbon neutral--terra pass. my earth loving husband has carbon neutralized our home and cars (don't ask me--ask him!) and felt sure i would want to announce this to the world. he was quite incensed when i ask it be removed. i am not really a bumper sticker girl- way to ashvillian for me. i do love my hula girl and live aloha stickers i have in hopes that i can some how recreate a little hawaii wherever i am but that is about it for me.

i look at the cars around asheville and realize it is such a window into a person based on what they choose to damage their car with. (i didn't want my window to have anything to do with carbon!) i have opinions about all the parents in car line because i have to stare day after day at their car's backside. i am sure they are all nice people but i am just not dying to run up and invite to dinner the mom who has some death threat to our president next to the there is shit in the meat sticker with a big mcdonalds m.

guess they don't want to join us for a playdate at the golden arches playplace and an early dinner!

right or wrong? solarizing your house

i don't know much about this and certainly don't want to bash cutting back on waste but when i watched living with ed and saw how much time he spends cleaning, worrying about and adjusting these babies i have to think that can't be good to spend that much time on your roof or obsessing about it.

i realize not everyone feels the need to have a little gloss on at all times but does that make me wrong? i will tell you that maybelline nor mac are making a profit in this town! i am concerned if more women don't start buying here they will pull it all from the shelves and then i will have to move.

right or wrong? giving up on hairbrushes

i guess if you have dreads it is a pointless purchase? i have never seen more bedhead in public in all my life. kids, adults it doesn't matter. even rebecca and jessica noticed it completely unprompted. not only is there just an unusual abundance of hair here due to people growing dreads and lots of boys and men with long hair but there is just not a care in the world for how it looks. a lady at the preschool heard me mumbling to brennan that he had messed up his gel in his hair and she screeched with laughter that he uses gel. IT IS FOR TAMING THE BEDHEAD--CHECK IT OUT.

speaking of self care- i must go put on my makeup to go get a facial....

what if the car wrecked on the way there and i diverted by police then to a hospital etc...same reason you always wear clean underwear!
