A FAMILY REARRANGED

i am continually reminded that we will not "arrive" in this life, rather we will keep being tweaked, pruned, challenged and rearranged.

celebrating

experiences. i have a list of things that i do not anticipate i will understand in this life. i am so looking forward to my first day with jesus. i will certainly take time to thank him, hug my mama and papa, stroll the the streets of gold BUT THEN i want to go over this list and get some answers. life has been full of experiences to date and i know they are all for my growth and benefit; i just want some enlightenment.

can you blog for a living?

my little blog exercise over these last few months. i was asked by our president to create a blog for our leadership team at work to communicate. i have no idea whether my experience here will translate but at least i knew what he was talking about! we will see if my co-workers appreciate my unique writing style?! i may get fired, who knows!

texas connection

it was amazing to be back in texas with our good friends and my sister. they are a great reminder of kindness, compassion, self-sacrifice and LOTS OF FUN! we have really missed that connection. our kids had a blast and have not stopped talking about the pirate play, baby jackson waxon and the haunted houses in grandpa and granna's neighborhood.

florida favorites

i got a double dose with my favorite girlfriends in pvb on a recent business trip. what a filling of the soul that can come from dinner on the intracostal and late night talks in the dark.

i am a lucky woman to have picked up some great nuggets of friendship along our journey

we have made a decision not to plant a church in asheville. after much prayer and discussion, we think the best service we can offer the kingdom is to find an existing church where michael can teach and our family can serve. we believe the commitment of time, resources and passion required to lead a body of people is not a fit for our family. this was not an easy decision but the peace that has come since we made that decision is confirmation it was the correct one.

michael is interviewing for church leadership positions that focus on teaching and discipleship. we are praying for patience and wisdom for this next decision. we desire to get established and look forward to serving somewhere suited for his gifts and passions. your prayers as we search for that fit are appreciated.

we are also going to begin going to church locally. "pajama church on the porch" has been a great season and we look forward to where we could serve locally until we know what lies ahead.

DO NOT SKIP THANKSGIVING

i am pissed off (you can say that as a christian!) at the jump from halloween right into christmas. there is an important holiday in the middle. it is thanksgiving. a time to be reminded of all the hardship that was endured by christians of the past to worship freely (yes that is what the first thanksgiving was about). we share in the concept of a feast but that is really the only thing i see most americans sharing with the early participants of this celebration. i am determined for our family to really take time out to cultivate hearts of giving thanks and understand the sacrifices others have made for their faith.

this resource spawned my soapbox: it is great!

whew--i do hope you each have a great holiday and are overwhelmed by the blessings bestowed on your family.

my hope is that this blog has shared the blessings god has given the campbell family.
