Blog - short for Weblog -very postmodern- its 2006

Instead of using email and trying to remember who I have and haven't updated, I am going to blog.

I will update it weekly and post by Fridays. From now on you can keep up with the Campbell family, patria360 church plant, move plans, kid happenings etc.. With each blog I will celebrate something.

6-30-06

CELEBRATE:

Brennan boy is 2 years old today! I can't actually believe we made it these last 2 years. When I found out I was pregnant I honestly couldn't imagine I would find such joy in a 4th child. He is so sweet and so cute (and LOVES his mommy!).
MOVE:

We are moving along with our plans to relocate to Asheville. Our new house is a mid-50s ranch. I am going to work on returning it to its original style with a mid-century look. All the best of the Leave it to Beaver years!

We are in the process of selling ours in Texas. All the walls are repainted from the waist down and the carpet has been replaced (yes, after only 2 years!). We have priced it aggressively so we can be out of here and on to Asheville in August.

CHURCH:

Michael is in touch with several contacts regarding funding, prayer and mentoring/church planting expertise. He continues to refine the vision and continues to have opportunities to share how God is at work in the postmodern world.

Our friends Matt and Rebecca were over with his parents (scary- the parents are closer to our age than M&R!) who have been lifelong missionaries. They were so encouraging in sharing how our desires for a relational ministry have long been successful in foreign missions where "church" as we know it just doesn't work or exist.

Michael has recently shared the vision with two other pastors in Asheville, two other church planting pastors in the Carolinas and will meet with our church here in Dallas and Mark from Providence in the coming weeks. These are great opportunities to hear from others the questions and encouragement to keep us moving forward.

The church name is patria360. Patria is the Greek word for family and the 360 is the concept of family full circle. Who is our father, our brothers and sisters and are our neighbors our family?

PRAYERS:

* Pray for those that are considering if God is moving in their lives to lead them to Asheville. Several people are praying about how God might use them and I know there are others unknown to us that He is already preparing.

We heard of a great story where 30 families from the east coast all moved together to Salt Lake City, UT to join God in His work there. It happens and I know He is at work for Asheville as well.

* I am praying for several friends with marital struggles. Most of us have been there so please pray for reconciliation for these families. Also pray that I would show grace and truth in the perfect balance.

* the perfect buyer for our house-SOON

* my mom in Asia and for her safe return (she is circling the whole world in this two week trip)

The best part of a blog is that you can reply and keep the dialog going...so hit me!
